I was sad I didnt make it on time to my girls show; designers Ayaan and Idyl Mohallim for Mataano last Tuesday evening. Somehow their show coincided with another show taking place around the same time. But I am glad I was able to go backstage to see the entire collection first hand. I was very impressed by the direction the twins took for their Spring Summer 2013. This time around, the twins took a more softer path. For spring 2013, the collection was inspired by the beach with its colors of green coral, dusty rose, ocean mist and the sun. There were a little bit of everything for any gal who loves the sun and the beach. The collection was very fresh, delicate, light, flowy with pieces such as jumpsuit, light weight pants and jacket and vest, just to mention a few. My favorites were the yellow jumpsut, silk printed pants and the organza top in dusty rose. Now, I wish if the Mataano would use that same organza top and turn it into a long kaftan with two side slits and a very light lining underneath. How chic would that be?? That's just me thinking out loud.
