I finally got around to watching Lady Gaga’s video for The Edge of Glory, and honestly - I like it. From what I'm hearing, most of the die hard Gaga fans do not. The problem with Gaga fans, and myself included is that we were watching this waiting for a tiger to crawl out of her behind wearing a tutu and instead got something very simple. Sure it isn’t typical outrageous Gaga, but it isn’t like its horrible. Her body of work has given the fans so much to compare to. Same goes with her live performances, after the VMA performance of Paparazzi there really isn’t anything else she’s done that “tops” it .
Now I'm not a Gaga hater, in fact I am a huge fan of her work - I even camped out for her first SNL in 2009 (was the 9th person in line, 3rd person with a dress rehearsal ticket) so it isn't like I'm judging her harshly, more or less the general fan base that thought she could do no wrong and now in their eyes, she has. However, I am not that big a fan of the new album. This particular song is the only one on Born This Way that I actually like, and the video doesn’t make me want to jump off the roof compared to the other two (save for Norman Reedus, I actually want nothing to do with Judas) There is such thing as doing too much, and she was getting to that point - so drama with creative directors aside I’d say that the minimalist approach to cutting this video was probably the best plan for her to go with, so the next thing she comes with will top it and spoiled fans will be pleased with Mother Monster once again.
On top of all of that, she is looking AMAZING lately, like her body is on point and I love the use of the Versace archives in the video. So this is where I turn it to you guys, what did you think about the video? What could have been done to make it better, or did you like how it came out? Leave a comment below and let me know how you feel!

the song sounds MAdonaish to me
