FJ Men: What you should know about mens shoes

By Sly

There are certain things a man buys once his net worth begins to equal--or excel--his expectations. These include, in no particular order, a weekend place, the sports car he always had his eye on, a couple of cases of his favorite Bordeaux, season tickets, maybe a good fly rod and at least one really nice pair of shoes. If he is feeling particularly indulgent, perhaps a couple of pairs.

Unlike many women, most men do not spend a lot of time thinking about shoes. For men, shoes are usually best appreciated when kicked off at the end of a long day. Sneakers for the gym or playing soccer in the park, boat shoes, a good pair of boots, some loafers and a few sober shoes for the office--that's about it. Better still, for the most part, men's shoe styles seldom change, so as long as he doesn't leave them out in the rain for several days or let the dog use them as a chew toy, he doesn't need buy new pairs every year. Have you guys seen the new men's Louboutins Studded Louis Sneakers from his  Spring/Summer 2010 collection? They are super dope! They come in black and white leather covered with studs and are retailed for  $ 1200 USD a pair. It looks like Pharell Williams loves them too much and decided to get them in both colors.  I am actually digging the simple white v-neck tee and jeans  look.  I think these sneakers work really well with his simple , casual look. So fresh , so clean!

So do you guys love them????

I have been  watching the scene for young  and upcoming  style icons  who redefine  and conjure  enough pizazz  and style to make   me  look and say  : ohhh  that is  nice . As  Jay  Z brought  the grown folks wear  to  hip hop  and got allot of hip hoppers to stop wearing throwbacks and put on a pair of slacks  and   Kanye  West for Killing Jay  z's swag  by telling the same hip hoppers  that  dressing like a slacker  is  ok  , if its a name brand and if its  really bright and colorful ( just  note that some people do not feel  Kanye's  style  at all ). Its a confused attempt to ape the B boy  early  NYC style , the eighties style that LL cool J and Run DMC  represented so well , why bring it back? It had its days. Continue reading

FJ Man Friday: A WELL DRESSED MAN GUIDE TO SUITS

By RosemaryKokuhilwa · September 25, 2009 · 0 Comments ·

The universal language of what makes a man well dressed is more varied than it has ever been. Men in black suits with black shirts and no ties make deals with men in sack suits and oxford button downs paired with navy ties sporting little green whales. Do they despise each other? Do they even notice anymore? Different silhouettes for suits abound and are the fashion all at the same time. The differences can be regional (London, Milan, Naples,Kinshasha,Abidjan) or simply a matter of fit and taste. One needs to consider what image they want to present to the world. To pursue the image of someone not yourself too often is to lose yourself in the process. You may be dreaming of a look that may or may not work on you personally. You may also be dreaming of a look that doesn’t work today for the purposes you need it to. For example, you may want to look like a particular actor from the 1930s but can you really carry it off, today? Read More Here

FJ man- Men's Military inspired trend

By RosemaryKokuhilwa · August 14, 2009 · 1 Comment ·

I know I have neglected my FJ men out there  for quite sometime but not to worry,  We are working on bringing FJ Man  every Friday like we used to. So today its all about Military inspired trend.  This trend is not soo new as it was seen before in previous years however,  it was brought back again  during Fall/Winter 2009-2010  when models came down the runway decked out in Military inspired jackets and fitted coats.  I know we are still celebrating these 100 and something days of summer but it sure does get chill  in the evening sometimes.  Can't wait for Fall to rock this trend, how about  throwing on a very  light military inspired coat/jacket to go with your jeans instead of a blazer for  a night out with your lady! Any thoughts??? xoxo!!
