Cecy Ctyles is a fashion label started up by young Tanzanian fashion designer Cecilia Nyamizi Mwenda. It specializes in custom-made clothes for special occassions.
Born on 12th May 1989, in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, Cecilia began attending Academic International Primary School at the tender age of 6. She expressed her passion for fashion through sewing doll clothes and making beaded jewellery, when she got home from school. At age 10, she expressed her entrepreneurship by selling her jewellery collection within the school. Her collection was popular amongst young school girls who spent most of their lunch money buying the made-to-order jewellery from her.

Unfortunately, after two years, Cecilia had to close down her jewellery business as she moved to the UK with her mother. But her talent lived on and was used when she began attending secondary school at Babington Community Technology College in Leicester. At age 15, she joined a textiles class that taught her the skill of machine sewing, pattern making and embroidery.

The very same year she modelled her first "real" garment on the Leicestershire Schools and Colleges fashion show hosted at the Haymarket Theatre. Right after the catwalk, she was approached by a lady from the audience who followed her backstage. The lady offered to buy her design, so Cecilia offered to make her an exact copy of the original as it was part of her AS level project.

At age 16, she began attending Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College in Leicester doing an A-level in Textiles. From the beginning of her first year, her talent was recognised by her tutor as she had a rather sophisticated approach to every design project she was given. She had an amazing speed at sewing garments.

Right after the catwalk, she was approached by a lady from the audience who followed her backstage. The lady offered to buy her design, so Cecilia offered to make her an exact copy of the original as it was part of her AS level project.A week later, the exchange was completed and the lady suggested that Cecilia starts her own label, with a website and "everything". So she did!
