If you are following me on Twitter and Instagram then you may have seen the image above of Tanzanian designer, Binti Africa and myself. She is in town for a few weeks for a very special mission about women entrepreneurship. Well, this is not the first time meeting her. When I learned that she was going to be in town I had to make an effort to spare few hours from my busy schedule to meet with her. We talked about the industry in Tanzania and also about her future plans for Binti Africa as a brand. Guess what?? Binti Africa had a huge bag full of goodies. (hehehehee) Remember my fave pink tie and dye Kaftan?? And yes, the blue and white beaded necklace that I am wearing on the picture above. She is the one who designed them. By the way the first thing I asked her when we met was my kaftans. And thank God she had two for me. She also brought some beautiful, very airy maxi dresses great for hot summer days, light weight blazers which I think will be great for chill summer evenings, robes and colorful hand bags perfect for carrying your stuff to the beach as well as pure leather sandals with hint of prints. So much cool stuff!!. Below are some of the items I took home with me. And guess what? One item from the collage is going to be on our next giveaway. Can you guess which one is it? Stay tuned.

This is what I wore two days ago; a tie and dye kaftan designed by Binti Africa. I bought this kaftan when I was in Tanzania this past summer. I have now worn this Kaftan more than five times since I got it and I like it more and more everytime I wear it. My saddle bag is vintage and was given to me by my friend, Veggie. I completed my look with a pair of Yves Saint Laurent heels and a silver watch from Guess. Do you like? See more images after the jump

I have received over ten emails regarding the Binti Africa red oversize clutch seen above asking me how and where to purchase it. Binti Africa is a line that uses 100% African fabrics, mostly batik designs and other African inspired materials. The boutique is located in Dar-es-salaaam, Tanzania. So if you ever in Dar, please feel free to stop by Kinondoni and check out the boutique. There a lot of amazing stuff that I know you are going to love.
