Going Punk for a day thanks to this year's theme Punk: Chaos to Couture. Growing up in Tanzania I didnt get a chance to experience Punk as a young girl. So this is me right here trying to unleash my inner PUNK self. Has anyone out there experienced Punk fashion growing up?

Happy New Year everyone!
I hope this year came in with lots of blessings and energy to get you started with whatever it is you want to achieve this year. Back to business, today is literary my first day of work and super excited to be getting back in the groove. So, have you guys heard of the word Rachet? I am sure y'all aware of it. What does it mean? Recently a lot of Rappers have been using this term a lot in their lyrics. According to Urban dictionary, Rachet is slangy word for loud or out of line. It may be used as crazy with no fear of getting in trouble, or future repercussions. But how does Rachet translate into your style? Is it wearing a lot of jewerly , having interesting hair styles, having long and colorful nails or showing too much skin, or wearing a some funky pair of shoes? Does it depend on how you wear it or your personal style? Beyonce posted a picture of Rachet earrings on her instagram and I hear she is working on a song titled Rachet. The other day I wore my Renee Q African prints harem warrior style pants (Thanks ReneeQ), an oversize sweater from H&M, a pair of OTK by Guess and a snapback hat while running errands around town. A friend of mine made a comment, "you look so Rachet." Trust me, I wasn't offended. As matter of fact I love the whole Rachestyle if done right.....I guess! Now the question is, darlings, are you feeling the whole Rachet movement?
Complete Outfit: RenéeQ African Prints Harem Warrior Style Pants, Guess OTK, H&M over size knit (in XL), Faith snapback hat, Gold chunky chain from NY street vendors.
FYI: The Harem warrior pants can be worn as pants or jumpsuit. The choice is yours. Get yours here .

I have decided to go back to what I know best....for now. Thank you so much for your lovely suggestions regarding curly hair weave. I will keep that in mind next time I am at the salon.

Currently blogging from Toronto, Canada. It's my first time here and boy what can I say..! It's mad freezing. I spent the entire of yesterday resting. Trust me, I needed it. Since I got back from the Mother Land I have been running around with work stuff. From New York Fashion Week to working with the Fashion Director at Miss Universe Organization. Lots of work. But I thank God, I can't complain. So today I went out for some vintage and consignment shopping downtown Queen West. Lot's of good finds but I'll share those with you later on a different post. Right now I am going to enjoy my delish dinner with a glass of wine, then take a quick nap before I hit the Toronto night scene. I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.
Xoxo

Wore this look to the opening of TOY Restaurant at the Gansevoort hotel in Meatpacking two weeks ago. Guys if you are in New York city area, be sure to stop by TOY. You are going to love it.
Complete Outfit: Vintage dress ($15) worn over Valentino skirt, Brian Atwood pumps, Marc by Marc Jacobs wristlet clutch. See more images here

A quick check in before I step out. The last few days have been a bit crazy for me. A lot going on at the moment but not to worry, I promise I will be back before you know it. I am sure you are all aware of all the festivities going on in New York City right now. The Clinton Global Intiative, UN Summit plus the Fashion 4 Development 2nd Annual First Ladies Luncheon which was yesterday (will post images here soon). Interesting time to be around NYC. Anyway, above is one of the many outfits pictures from the archives that did not make to the blog; Burnt orange blazer from Zara, Joe Fresh chambray tunic, H & M white skinnies and ElieTahari kitten heels.
By the way, I think I am getting tired of the braids. I am thinking of something new, a new hair do. What would you suggest I should try ? Is there any interesting hairstyle out there that you think might look good on me? I am open to try anything new as long as I don't look crazy. Help!!!!!
