Zoe Saldana(love her) wore a black and silver Pucci  at the premiere of her movie Star Trek in Hollywood. She paired her dress with black patent Brian Atwood heels while Fergie  wore similar dress but in green and silver  with silver heels when she arrived at the Late show with David Letterman  in NYC. Thigh High Boots, huge trend for Fall!! Being 5'10, for years I have always had difficulties finding a decent pair of thigh-high boots for a reasonable price. During New York Fashion week, Rodartes models strutted down the runway rocking some fly Thigh-high Boots . I have got to admit the boots looked soo fabulous on the models. I would love to put my hands all over them but I bet you they cost a fortune!



Also in Milan designer Miuccia Prada presented Prada Fall 2009 collection featuring some of the models in thigh - high rubber waders completed with braces to hold them up while walking down the runway (interesting). Her inspiration; The outdoors

Never knew Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation album and music videos would ever have a profound impact on current fashion trends and not only Janet but Michael Jackson's denim buckle belted Pants . Gothic industrial revolution and the wild west have influenced fashion in many ways .From the High collared Trench coats that outlaws used to wear in the spaghetti Westerns made famous by Clint East wood movies and if you are a literary buff , I would steer you to David Copperfield a book by Charles Dickens, or better yet the famous "Oliver Twist" remember the crook "Fagin" now imagine his big clumsy boots, but alot newer and nicer . I am talking about G-STAR , the runway show was creative , different and a big improvement from their previous outings in New York and or London . I loved their clothes, they were fashionably forward looking and definitely made to be worn in the fall . They certainly grab everyone's attention. Take for example the men's wool jackets with High collars .The suits and the women's pants hang loosely on the gals bodies ,expressing the comfort of the clothes , yes these clothes are hand crafted couture represented in its purest form as a denim luxury brand.The G-Star Raw show showed us why this is the premier luxury denim brand of our time , testament to this fact is the many faces that vouch for the brand , namely actor Benicio Del Toro who is a big fun and has been involved with this brand for a few years now . This year fall G-Star New York Raw was one of my most inspiring runway shows for this season . Specifically the men's collections that were exemplary to say the least. It seems to me pop culture comes and goes styles die and are then resuscitated about ten years down the line . My take on this year's New York Fall fashion week is a rebirth of the old and and tweaking of the current . But the thing is they are not the main look but merely an amalgam of different styles mashed into one . Take a look at the mens wear, the eighties high tops and hooded hoods are back ,the bright color mixtures and the flashy jewelry accessories , yes Kanye is pushing his eighties retro style aggressively , but we don't think it will catch on pretty fast , the reason being alot of males think its a very soft look, a tard to feminine look in a very hard time(overall). At the same time , dressing and mature clothes are back , suits, bespoke or regular Ready -to -Wear threads are in trend , so it appears to be a throwback to the early fifties when men used to dress for each occasion . We are at a crossroads of fashion where the sixties meets the 70s and the seventies bumping into the eighties and the 90s and the 2000s being squeezed in there .As per womens wear the same seems to be the case last night at the Badgley Mischka show , I was amazed at how modern his evening gowns were , to tell you the truth , I was shocked and refreshed to see (Badgley Mischka) not jumping onto the 80s bandwagon that seems to be the trend .

The first show I saw on Friday morning was The Heart Truth Fashion show which gave all women an early Valentine with the debut of the 2009 Red Dress Collection. ( I almost missed the show due to traffic). Cicely Tyson, Vivica A. Fox, Nia Long, Katie Couric, Hilary Duff, Tori Spelling and Valerie Bertinelli are among the 20 celebrities who appeared on the runway wearing fabulous Red dresses designed by American designers along with two British designers, Marchesa and Jenny Packham. The Red Dress Fashion Show brings awareness about heart disease, the No. 1 killer for women in America and all over the world.
Cicely Tyson stole the show when she stomped down the runway in a beautiful gown with puffed sleeves by B.Michael (I could tell she enjoyed every moment of it) , Valeri Bertinelli wore Project Runway Winner's Christian Siriano strapless gown and Linda Carter showed off her beautiful body in Carolina Herrera one shoulder dress.
Samantha Harris looked flowless in a one sleeve David Meister dress, Nastia Liukin rocked the above the knees Max Azria frock and Nia Long looked adorable in a lace strapless Tracy Reese dress.
